Cabarrus County Schools, Kannapolis City Schools, and the Cabarrus Health Alliance School Health Program have procedures in place to address parental consent for medical treatments provided at school.
Health services provided by School Nurses and school staff may include first aid and emergency services, including the evaluation for illness and injury, vision and hearing screenings, and health education.
School Nurses and trained school staff may only administer medications and perform medical procedures following a medical provider’s order and with parent/guardian consent on file. Parents or guardians will be given the opportunity to consent to any treatments provided by school nurses or school staff that require consent under the Parents’ Bill of Rights.
Should parents or guardians have any questions regarding the health care services and medical treatments provided at school, they should contact the School Nurse at their child’s school.
